Cocoa Drops by Sandra Simpson

1/4 cup butter
1/4 cup shortening
1 cup sugar
1 egg
3/4 cup buttermilk
1 tsp. vanilla
1 3/4 cups flour
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 cup cocoa
1/2 cup chopped nuts

Beat shortening, butter, sugar and egg. Add flour, salt and baking soda alternately with buttermilk. Add vanilla. Stir in nuts. Chill dough for one hour. Drop by teaspoon on lightly greased cookie sheet. Bake at 400 degrees for 8-10minutes. Cool on rack.

Frosting

2 cups confectioners sugar
3 tablespoons cocoa
1 tsp. vanilla
2 tablespoons butter, melted
milk

Combine sugar and cocoa in a bowl. Add butter and vanilla. Stir in enough milk to make the frosting spreadable but firm. Frost cold cookies.
