Fruit Cookies by Theresa Fillette

1/2 cup butter
1 cup brown sugar
1 egg
1/2 cup buttermilk
1 3/4 cup flour
1 1/2 tsp. soda
1/2 tsp. salt
3/4 cup chopped pecans
1 cup candies cherries
1 cup cut up dates

Cream butter and sugar. Add egg, buttermilk, four and soda. Mix well. Stir in pecans and dates. Fold in cherries. Chill dough overnight. Drop by spoon onto cookie sheet. Bake at 400 degrees for 8-10 minutes. Cool on rack.
